Lou Brown brings more than fifteen years of leadership in the field of large-scale algae cultivation for biofuels and bioproducts. As an expert in the field of Algal Agronomy, his broad experience in open pond and photobioreactor cultivation, systems design, operations, pest management, and technology development is fundamental to Viridos’ commercialization efforts. Lou leads a multidisciplinary team of highly skilled operators, scientists, and engineers focused on improving the performance of Viridos’ best in class strains while marrying the arts of science and scale to make algae farming a reality.
Before joining Viridos, Lou worked at Texas AgriLife Research as a Researcher and Project Manager at the Pecos Algae Facility located in Pecos, Texas. There he worked on a variety of government projects including the National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts (NAAB) and the Regional Algae Feedstock Testbed (RAFT) consortiums.
